As part of Luca Education, I worked on the visual design of secondary school books covering subjects such as Science, Chemistry, Civics, History, and other core areas across grades one through three. Unlike the more playful approach used for younger students, these materials required a more mature and structured visual language that could accommodate a greater volume of information, diagrams, explanations, and subject-specific content. The project focused on creating editorial materials that feel clear, contemporary, and engaging while supporting the depth and complexity of secondary-level learning.
Design Approach
The design approach focused on balancing information density with visual clarity. We developed a cleaner and more mature visual language, using structured layouts, typography, diagrams, and graphic resources to organize complex content without overwhelming the reader. Each subject needed enough visual character to feel distinctive while remaining part of a cohesive editorial system across the collection. The result was a flexible approach designed to support different types of content, from scientific concepts and diagrams to social studies and civic education.
